Austin, Texas, is no stranger to celebrating special occasions and hospitality—whether it’s live music, 24 hour smoked BBQ, unforgettable wedding ceremonies, or enjoying handcrafted cocktails downtown. Hospitality is ingrained in every corner of this vibrant city, and the servers and bartenders are what make the Austin experience truly unique. The founders of Beyond The Bar ATX are no strangers to the scene. With years of experience serving patrons at restaurants and bars in ATX, they had their eyes on creating a bar experience of their own.
Mobile bartending has become increasingly popular for all types of events. In Austin and all over the country, you may have seen a converted horse trailer turned rustic wedding bar at a summer hitchin’. The bar trailer matched with signature drinks, flowers, balloon arrangements and specialty decor makes makes it a memorable occasion. But taking a leap into your own small business, especially in the event industry, has it’s risks. For Rebecca Berry, Rachel Berry, and Joshua Jones, they decided it was time to leave the corporate machine and make something of their own.

Leaving Corporate Behind
Rebecca, Rachael and Josh were determined to take a small mobile bar business idea and transform it into something special. The idea wasn’t born out of a simple desire to make drinks—it was built to change the way people celebrate for special occasions in our part of Texas. It was a journey of rediscovering purpose, reigniting their passion, and redefining connection in the hospitality industry while putting their own creative spin on things.
For years, Rebecca, Rachael and Josh poured their energy into the service industry, working at major corporate chains and smaller, family-owned businesses. From Red Lobster to North Italia, and even Cheesecake Factory, they experienced it all—the highs of creating memorable moments for guests and the lows of rigid corporate structures that prioritized profits over people. It was time to do create something for themselves and provide a service to customers that was their own. The constant grind, lack of fulfillment, and disconnection from what really mattered—the customers—sparked a desire for something new. The idea of mobile bartending started as a seed, a way to take years of expertise and love for hosting and turn it into something personal and meaningful.
When a client says, ‘You made our event so special,’ that’s worth more than any pat on the back from a manager.

Making The Mobile Bartending Leap
To start the mobile bar business, there were a few options in getting launched. They could start from scratch, find a trailer that recently guided horses off the back ramp and turn the blank slate into a bar trailer. Another option was to purchase a completed trailers in central Texas, or even a mobile bar business for sale with potential.
The team decided to acquire a mobile bar business out of Waco, Texas and took the first step. The bar trailer had a beautiful and rustic look but needed some upgrades. The team quickly got to it to add ivy decor, upgraded the bar tops, a new interior look and additional bar equipment options like keg taps. The first step felt like a leap of faith but they were ready to get their dream on the right track.
The vision for Beyond The Bar ATX wasn’t simply to pour drinks and provide a service, it was to create an experience. “We wanted to build something where every client felt special, where the details mattered, and where every sip told a story,” the founders shared. Austin’s great event scene paired with their years of experience provided the ideal foundation to get started.
So what was going to be the focus of Beyond The Bar ATX? What was going to set them apart?
- Crafted Cocktails: Every drink is designed with fresh, high-quality ingredients, because the founders know that a margarita made with fresh juice outshines anything pre-mixed.
